A YaYu carrying a crown.
My grandmother told me the same story every night — a princess, the same one, the same words. I knew how it ended long before it ended. That was the point: the story was not information, it was a ritual. Something that arrived on time, every time, and made the day close properly.
The crown here is not power. It is the object from a story told to a child who was not yet afraid of anything — placed above the head, where memories sit.
Some things we carry are not events. They are repetitions: the same words, the same voice, the same hour of the evening. They shape a person as much as anything that happened only once.
